During Dementia Awareness Week (15 – 21 May) The Partnership in Care invited local pupils from Brookes Cambridge School (formally Cherry Trees) to meet with our residents and learn about how Dementia affects people and their loved ones. The pupils aged between 7 and 11 performed three songs from their upcoming stage production of ‘Olivier’, recited poems from Spike Milligan and told jokes; which was greatly received by our residents and staff.

Moira Clare (Quality Services Lead) delivered a training session on Dementia Awareness to the pupils explaining the disease, how it can affect our loved ones and how we can help. The pupils finished by signing up to become Dementia Friends and making their pledges to help those affected in our community and family circles.

A big thank you to all at Brookes Cambridge school for such an enjoyable day.
